OUR PROCESS
HANDCRAFTED DESIGN
Origin and History:
Decoupage originated in France in the 17th century as a way to decorate furniture and other household items. It was particularly popular in the 18th century at European courts, where graceful and colorful designs were applied to fans screens and another decorative objects.
The Process:
Decoupage involves cutting out desired designs from paper, fabric, or other materials. These cutouts are then glued onto a surface, often with specific decoupage mediums designed for the purpose. The final step is to seal the design with multiple coats of varnish or lacquer, creating a durable and polished finish. Our process is a reverse decoupage where the image created is adhered onto the back of the glass tray, creating a polished final product that can be simply wiped clean with a cloth and stand the test of time.
